Tenant Police Verification in Gurgaon: Haryana Police Process for Owners
Gurgaon falls under Haryana Police, not Delhi Police, so a Gurgaon flat needs its own registration. This guide sets out the two routes, the paperwork, and why company leases need extra care.
Two routes: online citizen login or the downloaded form
- Haryana Police citizen login (HarSamay). Guides describe creating a login on the Haryana Police citizen portal (a news report names it HarSamay and says it issues digitally signed tenant verification certificates), filling in the tenant and owner details, uploading scanned documents, and confirming with a code sent to your registered mobile number.
- Downloadable form. The Gurugram Police website carries an application form for employee / servant / tenant verification. Download it, fill it in, attach photocopies and submit it at the police station that covers the property, then keep the acknowledgement.
- Fee. One guide says a nominal fee applies and can be paid online or at the station. No official amount was found, so none is stated.
The legal basis
Where police have cited a legal basis it is usually a commissioner's order under Section 163 of the BNSS (the successor to CrPC 144), enforced under Section 223 of the BNS (the successor to IPC 188); Pune police used exactly this route in August 2026. We did not find the current order for this city, so ask your local station which order applies.

Corporate leases need extra care
Cyber City, Golf Course Road and Sohna Road have many tenancies where the lessee is a company and the occupant is a relocating employee. The police form is about the people who will live in the flat, so file the occupant's details, not just the company's. Ask HR for the employee's ID and a letter naming who will live in the flat. Gated societies will ask
High-rise societies in Gurgaon often make the police acknowledgement a condition of move-in, alongside the agreement and the tenant's ID. Collect them as a bundle before your tenant arrives so that the society office can issue access cards on day one.
If you live abroad
The online login needs an Indian mobile number for the OTP. If a station visit is needed, ask a family member or caretaker to carry the signed form with your authorisation letter and confirm the station will accept it. You do not need a Power of Attorney for this alone.
